Fossil Hike @ Wilderness Station

The Wilderness Station is a nature center, gift shop, and rental facility located in Barfield Crescent Park. It is also the headquarters of Outdoor Murfreesboro, a department of Murfreesboro Parks and Rec that specializes in environmental education and outdoor recreation. The Wilderness Station is home to many education animals, including owls, a hawk, snakes, and more. Outdoor Murfreesboro also offers many educational programs at the Wilderness Station and on the surrounding trails. Outdoor Murfreesboro is the environmental education, natural resource conservation, and adventure recreation branch of the Murfreesboro Parks and Recreation Department.

Our group will be learning about fossils, rocks, & minerals with the park staff and we will also go on a short hike to find some fossils of our own! Bring a picnic lunch to enjoy after the event.
