Space Exploration @ The Adventure Science Center

For over 75 years, Adventure Science Center has been bringing science to life for students, teachers, and families in Middle Tennessee and across the U.S. The science center offers engaging learning experiences and science fun through hands-on, interactive exhibits, innovative programs, and full-dome productions in the state-of-the-art Sudekum Planetarium.

Our field trip will have a SPACE theme and will include a demonstration with an educator, a planetarium show, lunchtime, and free play at the museum.   This event will be best suited for K-5th grades, but all ages are welcome.

SPACE EXPLORATION DEMONSTRATION - Strap in, space cadets!  Students will explore what we need to pack for a space flight, test rocket-launching techniques, and observe why the lack of oxygen and gravity are such large challenges to astronauts in space.

PLANETARIUM SHOW - We will get to watch a show in the planetarium about space as well.

LUNCH - Bring your own lunch to enjoy in the ASC lunchroom.

Arrival & Orientation: 10:00am

Planetarium Show: 10:30am-11:00am (Our Place in Space)

Educational Demonstration: 11:15am - 11:45am (Space Exploration)

Lunch in their lunchroom: 12:00pm-12:30pm

Explore on your own: 12:30pm-3:00pm

***If you already have a science center membership, you will just pay the planetarium and demonstration fees.

We have one field trip coordinator ticket available.  If you register as the field trip coordinator,  you will be responsible for greeting group members as they arrive, checking attendance, and interfacing the the venue staff as the group leader.   SENHE will provide you with details ahead of the event.  Field Trip Coordinators get free admission.  :)
