Stormwater Demonstration Tour

Metro Water Services Tour of the Stormwater Demonstration Campus will introduce students to the role Engineers play in preventing water pollution through design concepts. Students will take on the role of Engineers for The Candy Company, learn about a pollution problem, see solutions, and create a map with their own plan to prevent polluted runoff from reaching the nearby creek. Pre- and post-visit materials are available to extend the learning.

Tour Outline:

• Introduction to the Engineering role and the problem.

• Tour of the Stormwater Demonstration Campus to learn about the permeable paving, green roof, cistern, and bioretention areas.
