About the event

An exciting excursion for kids of all ages, there’s always plenty of family fun at Cheekwood! Take your students on a journey to the past in our historic mansion, learn about the science of horticulture in our gardens, or attend one of our special events — no matter their interests, our historic homefront is a fun-filled experience they’ll never forget!

On this field trip, the Cheekwood staff will lead us on an exploration to learn about traditions, customs, and culture in the Blevins Japanese Garden. Students will learn about traditional Japanese Tea Ceremonies and make their own herbal teas. Students will also compare what they learn to their own cultural practices.

Families will also be able to explore the entire grounds on their own after the event.
